Gabe Duncanson
Operations Manager
Gabe is a sixth-generation farmer in southern Minnesota who manages the daily operations at Highland Family Farms. He graduated from Maple River High School and attended the University of Minnesota where he studied ag communications and marketing and was involved in the Farmhouse Fraternity.
In addition to lifelong learning on his family’s farm, Gabe spent several summers on farms across the country (New York, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Dakota and Montana) where he gained experience growing a variety of vegetables and crops across multiple climates with diverse business practices. He also interned with Crystal Valley Cooperative in the precision ag division performing soil sampling, variable rate mapping and preparing airplanes for aerial applications.
Gabe and his wife Andrea have a son Declan, who loves being in the field and on the farm. They are active in the community as members of St. John’s Lutheran Church and through Andrea’s full-time role at Gustavus Adolphus College.
Gabe looks forward to implementing more regenerative and sustainable agricultural practices that increase soil structure and help their farm maintain productivity for generations to come. He’s excited by the challenge that comes with each day and the opportunity to expand the farm to new partners and markets for future success.
